It’s now been a year since GC and I got engaged! That is some craziness right there. We celebrated with cards and a delicious dinner out at 2941, a great local restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and they were very accommodating with my dairy free requests. Plus the setting was gorgeous!
We ordered these amazing mushroom tartines that were so freaking good. The little greens that were the garnish were the perfect topping.
The next day we explored Union Market in DC with some friends! What a cool, hip spot. I was in veggie heaven. We bought our favorite sauerkraut and fermented jalapeƱos from local Number One and Sons, I found a local kombucha on tap by Craft Kombucha, fresh bread from Lyon Bakery…so much greatness all under one roof! Very excited to go back soon.
These shot glasses one of the stores was selling took me back to my college days…GC and I have one friend who, every time he was ever able to ‘cheers’ anyone, would say this phrase. Or rather, gleefully shout it to anyone who was listening.
And along with the spanish theme, I thought this “Mi Amor” card was just darling.
Oooh, and the icing on the cake? One of the local places sold dairy free ice cream. This one was made with coconut milk and was cookies & cream flavor. I haven’t had ‘ice cream’ that wasn’t made with dairy in so many years, and this tasted just like I remembered it.
